had a new liftmaster smart garage door installed was super excited due to it said it would work with my Xfinity home!!!!.....NOT.... it only works with chamberlain...WHY WOULD THEY NOT DISCLOSE THAT OR NOT EVEN ADVERTISE THAT IN THE MANUAL... now I can’t link it to my xfinity home or even Alexa. Starting to think it was a waste of money. Oh but I could spend extra money to connect it to Siri. Not sure I wanna waste more money on this company.

Chamberlain/Liftmaster makes great door opener hardware. The mechanics and gears and motors are all some of the best and most reliable you'll find. They will open and close you door for years to come.

The "Smart" stuff they make is something less. You're mileage may vary, but most people looking to create a smart home are expressing their dissappointment with Chamberlain's MyQ and equiv smart controllers. But the good news is you can pair a 3rd party controller with most of the Chamberlain door opener hardware. Just two wires that usually simulates the wall button and has a sensor for door position.  Just Google "Smart Garage Door Opener Controller" and you'll find a dozen choices. Many integrate with Alexxa and Google. They run from $50 to $150 a piece and have a varying set of features and installation requirements.

Have fun!

Chamberlain and Liftmaster are one in the same. Not sure where your info is coming from but Xfinity states clearly it works with both (although not sure why you'd want to bother over the MyQ app, but that's a personal choice):
