With Craftsman's future uncertain, will Chamberlain APP allow Craftsman OEM units to be connected?

Last month I purchased a Craftsman 54931 unit, which appears to be the same core technology found in the B970 and simply rebranded Craftsman.  Frankly I got a great deal with some SEARS bucks, but felt comfortable buying the Craftsman branded unit  BECAUSE it was Chamberlain hardware under the Craftsman paint. Well that was a month ago, and now with SEARS filing for bankruptcy, I am concerned that Craftsman might get caught up in the chaos. What if their Craftsman APP vanishes when the company does?

Has anyone at Chamberlain considered what it would take to embrace the CRAFTSMAN units in their own Chamberlain APP?  The hardware is clearly nearly identical, and logos and naming aside, I am sure their wireless protocols and APP APIs are 99.999% the same. I suspect that the serial numbers exchanged are the only way the APP knows if it is supposed to support the specific hardware target.

Anyone know if this 'safety net' is being considered by Chamberlain?  There may be a contractual issue with Craftsman, but hopefully this same contract enables this broader support if CRAFTSMAN(SEARS) becomes insolvent.
