Wink App Issues

When I use the Wink app to open/close my garage, it works...but it continually says "Opening" or "Closing." Have to get out of app & come back in for it to show it fully opened or closed.

I have a Wink also. The door state does go a little off if you don't use it exclusively. Honestly, I use the wink functionality only for the door open alert for when my son arrives home from school. While Wink will trigger open and close, it is much slower than just using the Chamberlain app . I use a robot for that as the MyQ alerts keep throwing duplicates. I have ascend robot that turns on a set of inside lights when the door is triggered.

Also, for Siri control via HomeKit we have all been waiting for Chamberlain, but it is not looking great. Many of us have brought a Homebridge server online to be able to get that functionality.

Thx again, Scott. Re duplicates, Mine did that too, but I realized I had 2 rules that both alerted me when opening/closing. Deleted one. Fixed the issue. Re HomeKit, I wouldn't count on it for this hardware version. Had another company tell me Apple requires extra hardware in Apple HomeKit devices. Makes those devices more expensive, so a lot of companies pass. Until people start begging for it (could be soon), companies will be forced to add it. Until then, they want to keep their prices down. So probably in v2 of the myQ hardware. That's just what I've heard.

Sadly, many of us here have been directly told by Chamberlain staff that the current MyQ201 will be HomeKit compatible with a firmware upgrade. In another thread I started (that Chamberlain locked) it is in there many times. That said, a number of us brought Homebridge servers online, I just got mine running yesterday, and it works for HomeKit like a champ based on my testing. It even works with my Watch to control the MyQ and therefore my garage door. I am looking into the Homebridge-Wink plugin to see if I can link all of my smart-devices to both of my systems. While we are all iPhone folks, I also have an Amazon echo which is drop dead simple and getting more powerful all the time. I have both a Wink hub and a Lutron Caseta (HomeKit) hub running with different lighting sets linked to each. I use the Echo-Wink linkage for the ease of controlling a number of lights in the house for the entire family. With the echo always on listening, we don't need to grab our phones to make a change, simply say, "Alexa xyz..." and she takes care of it. That said, I can't get to Echo from outside the house and it lives in my kitchen. Having control ofWink via Homebridge (HomeKit) could pull everything together via Siri and still let my family leverage the Echo for ease of use overall.

Ok you seem to know more than I do. :) I'm trying to figure out now if a Wink hub will work with my GE Link Bluetooth Mesh smart plugs. Thx again!

Just a few months ahead of you that's all. Not sure about that. They might. They really do support a lot. You can also contact Wink and ask them to add GE to the roadmap. Cheers!
