Wink API is getting worse by the minute

It seems like the Chamberlain MyQ integration API is getting worse and worse by the minute.

Never mind the fact that you could never set up robots to control the doors, about two months ago Wink lost its ability to open and close my garage doors completely even though my MyQ phone app still allows it. This has not resolved in about two months.

But as of two days ago Wink stopped receiving status updates from my garage door that has the older generic, sensor taped to the door, type MyQ connection instead of the newer integrated into my garage door opener one. I can see the status update in the MyQ app but not in Wink. By other doors with the MyQ integrated into the door opener report status correctly still.

This is a big deal as I use that sensor to trigger light robots and it no longer works. I'd like the other issue resolved too with Wink not being able to control by doors but the second issue with my sensor not reporting is more pressing.

I suspect it's a Chamberlain API usse and not a Wink issue so please try fixing this one. I know we have asked for multiple user access for 3 years now with nothing happening but please at least quit breaking stuff that was kind of sort of working before.

Agreed. They claim security concerns on about any feature they disable. I feel they want to push their home hubs but I think they forget that people paid for their products already off previous functionality. Case in point disabling the schedule feature for a year and a half now and making the fix to buy one of their hubs.

They’ve lost me as a future customer. Once I am able, I’m ditching their platform for one of the multiple competitors out there now. Someone on these forums has a competing product already that I’ve been looking at. Chamberlain has lost its agility and sight as a company. They remind me of Microsoft trying to force their platform but taking too long to realize they’re pushing customers away. Case in point every content creator update that seems to cause issues with breaking things that worked previously without valid workaround fixes.

I remember being very optimistic when I ordered the MyQ Hub.  I had it installed for over 3 months before Wink was able to control my garage door.  I spent countless hours on forums, even on the phone with MyQ support and Wink support (wink does have incredible support).  I would wait a week or two between calls hoping some progress had been made since the previous attempt.
Finally, on the last call, three months after installation, I was able to connect my MyQ account to wink.  I just got lucky and a very knowledgeable tech answered this call.  He directed me to a website that looked just like this

except I was using Chrome on my work laptop.  I am not sure if the Wink 'browser' was incompatible with this authentication page, or it was total luck, but I was able to authenticate!!

The reason I am posting this reply is because the scenario you described above is exactly what happens to me now.  I have full functionality for a month or two, the I lose control but get status updates, then I lose everything.

I am always able to get it working again, by fully unlinking my MyQ account with Wink and re-linking.  This is a total pain in the a$$.  I can't help but think this is do to poor API integration on the MyQ side.I have read many posts regarding this issue, I would think this would prompt MyQ or Chamberlain to do something about it.

Good luck, hopefully these issues are addressed sooner than later.

I'm getting fed up! This has been an issue for months now!!! I think MyQ Chamberlain is trying to start charging service for wink like they are with Google home IFTTT and other Integrations. Maybe this is the reason that their service no longer works with wink. I've had continuing problems with the MyQ not working on the way cab and nobody seems to care or fix the problem

After months, I'm still having the same reported issue between MyQ and Wink. If I unlink and relink my MyQ account in Wink, it works for about a day, then stops working again.

Wink was confirmed there's an issue with the API linking them with Chamberlain. I just got off the phone with George in Tier 2 support at Chamberlain, and he said he knows nothing about such a problem. But a couple of days ago, a supervisor in Tier 1 support confirmed there is a known issue. Seems either Chamberlain doesn't communicate well internally... or they can't get the story straight.

Does anyone at Chamberlain actually read this and care about customers? If so, I'd love to hear from you!

I'm thinking if you want to integrate your garage door with your home automation, maybe look at something other than Chamberlain. And if this is how their support is... maybe I'll mark Chamberlain off the list when it's time for a new opener too.

I ended up moving to Home Assistant running on a RPI3, it integrates perfectly with MyQ.  Might consider this as wink is natively compatible with Home Assistant as well. Good Luck!

I've tried calling Chamberlain corporate offices and have left a message. Tried contacting via social media. All I hear is silence.

At least Wink will communicate... the worst a company can do is just ignore... that's seen by customers as they simply don't care

I do see that GoControl has a garage door controller that interfaces with Wink... maybe should just take the silence from Chamberlain as their answer.

Does Chamberlain monitor this I wonder?

Bought a wink hub on a total whim, due to impressive hardware specs. I have absolutely nothing for the hub to connect to at the moment, but have been thinking heavily about home automation for the last few years. I got soured on it back during the x10 heydays. I'm dissapointed that it appears that the hub cannot function without a link back to wink, so basically this is a personal spyware device, except not in your favor. it should open up ports based in uPNP and let the apps and such connect that way. Meanwhile I m taking the help from the Toshiba Support I'm probably going to return it if i can't find a way to install alternate firmware along the same lines as tomato/ddwrt/
