Why does my MyQ app sends multiple (10 or more) Open/Close notifications while the garage door is closed

The MyQ app has recently started to send my numerous back-to-back notifications showing the garage door is continuously opening and closing, when in reality the door is closed, and no-one is even home. I can see my garage door is closed using my Nest Cam at the same time I'm receiving these notifications, so I know for sure the door itself is not moving. Seems to be a malfunction of some kind. You can see how this could be so annoying when you have your Apple Watch continuously vibrate as you're at work trying to concentrate. I can't turn off the notifications because I don't want to miss legitimate notifications when the door is in fact opened and closed, but these fake notifications are killing me!

I have a similar issue.  But interestingly enough only on one of two garage doors.  When the door is closed I get two notifications.  Only one message when the door is open and only one message when the door is open for longer than 10 minutes.  What is up with the extra notification on the one door and not the other.  Resetting does not seem to help.

It seems maybe one of the sensors may have a low battery. It seems the sensor batteries may not all be consistent, because my neighbor changed his sensor battery two months after he purchased his, but I've been going for over a year and just replaced mine. So changing the battery of that sensor may help resolve this.

Have either of you found a resolution? I’ve got the same problem. It started the same day I connected my new Google WiFi router.

I installed MyQ recently for two garage doors and have experienced similar issues, too. The false notifications happened two times on different days. Luckily I was home to witness the problem and I only received a pair of false notifications each time.
On a different occasion, the real notification for closing door did not happen until ten minutes later.

I really like the product. And it seems to be 95% reliable, not 100%...

I did two things that possibly fixed this issue.

1. I noticed the velcro for the door sensor was a bit loose. I changed it to a different velcro so the door sensor is more securely attached. This would potentially make sure the sensor doesn't move around in place if the door is shaken by anything such as wind, children playing outside and hitting the door with a ball, etc.

2. I also changed the battery. I've had this system for over a year now and never changed the battery. I switched the battery last night.

Since I did the two fixes above, I haven't had the problem yet. Hopefully it won't occur again. If it does, I'll update this, but as of now all seems to be well.
