Why connecting a WIFI ready Chamberlain garage door opener to your home network so hard to do?

I just install my Chamberlain Garage door opener with MyQ wifi; follow the instructions for connecting the garage door opener to my smart phone (exactly as written in the owners manual, but everytime I try to enter the Serial no. in the app, it gives a gateway error connection message saying it cannot connect or the serial no. is in-correct. I can't even get my computer to pull up the MyQ-nnn or anything resembling that name when I try to connect to the garage door from my personal computer which is only 10 feet from the garage. I have a very strong signal out in the garage, but for the life of me can't figure out why nothing is connecting to this wifi ready garage door opener.

Same here. I had this problem when I put the garage opener up about 7 months ago but now I want to use the app on my phone and I still run into the same problem.

The Chamberlain WiFi myq is a joke and has design flaws.  It seems to have some serious design issues.  No matter what you do, there is something else.  Why can't Chamberlain design a system that works like all other wireless connected systems? These wireless devices connect quickly and never have the issues so many Chamberlain customers have with this annoying garage door opener.  I am fed up with lack of a solid response from Chamberlain to fix the problem.  Maybe there is none.

Make sure the WiFi signal is strong in your garage area. Check if you can watch a random YouTube video with out any problem of interruption. I had the same issue, but I figured out that I needed a repeater to get a better signal in my garage. It should work.
