You make the app compatible with Apple watch but not Car Play, that would be ideal.

CarPlay compatibility does seem like a bit of a no-brainer here, considering the product we're talking about.

David I think you nailed it when you said no-brainer, look at the company we are dealing with

Apparently it’s because CarPlay is currently limited to Audio for 3rd party apps only. The MyQ device does not fit into that category.
I think to it’s a huge request using HomeKit on the phone requires iPhone to be unlocked but Apple Watch can do it just fine. I just bring my wrist up and say “Hey Siri open my garage door “ it’s a tad slow so I have to do it a little over a block away for it to process the command and have the door opened by the time I get get there.
I just have to watch my voice volume if my iPhone connected to CarPlay picks it up then I have to “break the law” and use Touch ID to unlock my phone before hand

Lauren could I get an update with info on the eta for the homekit bridge? I filled out the form on time and probably got the email but not sure what the email was called
what was the automated email's subject or sender address? something i can search by? I have checked all my email from chamberlain, myq etc and nothing is showing the form i filled. I do remember it telling me 6-8 weeks. that was 4 weeks ago as per the time stamp.
thanks if you need more information let me know

Michael, the system is not set up to send confirmations. Units should start shipping in the next 2-3 weeks. Lauren

I am finding this thread a year later and still there is no lift master MyQ for Apple CarPlay. CarPlay has for a while now included apps other than audio, such as Waze, Google Maps, etc. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE?

In a word Apple.
Apple hasn’t opened up HomeKit or stuff like doors (garage or otherwise) to a CarPlay due to security risks. for example if you allow CarPlay while locked any car with CarPlay can access CarPlay apps so if your phone was stolen and they had your address they could get at least into your garage without unlocking your phone
There is work around a though.
I have a spare smart plug not in use, I set an automation that when it turns on open the garage door then assigned the smart plug to a scene I say Hey Siri I’m home. It turns that switch on the automation says when that is on open the myQ door (need HomeKit bridge)
It auto closes in 2mins and I set a geofence to active the scene as well so it does it automatically when I get near my home now
