At this stage you are best off to look at either an alternative opener or (like me) setup a raspberry Pi or other computer to run HomeBridge and use that to control the opener. For now that works, my hope is chamberlain doesnt block it before they give us a real solution because it works great

Based on the last 2 years with Chamberlain on this topic, I wouldn't count on it ever happening. If Homekit is required you may want to begin looking for alternatives

Has anyone received any type of communication recently from Chamberlain (Check your emails ASAP), between Dec 24th - 26th?

I won't mention specifics and those that have received something don't have to state what it was other than they have or haven't.

That will be all for now.

It seems like we shouldn't need the bridge now that Homekit supports addition by firmware update. Just like they had originally planned.

I have an unopened B970 (I think it's the Home Depot version of the 1050) sitting in my garage awaiting install once my garage door is delivered. I assume it won't ever be updated by firmware to be compatible with HomeKit? I'll need this new hub always?

b.c., because this opener is MyQ enabled, adding the MyQ Home Bridge will provide HomeKit compatibility. Lauren

Hi b.c., - you're correct -  HomeKit compatibility is available via the MyQ Home Bridge.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  -Chuck

The installer has ordered the door, going to be another week or so before they get it then I will be scheduled for install of door and opener.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell if my submission for the free Home Bridge was received ok? I did not get a confirmation.

b.c. I will check but I'm betting it was received correctly. The system does not send out a follow-up confirmation email. I'll let you know if there's an issue. Lauren.

Hi brokenrhino,

You can only access HomeKit functionality via the MyQ Home Bridge, and not through a firmware update.

Best,
Chuck

So for years I waited and was lied to by your company about a firmware update that never came. I finally gave up and stopped follwing. Now i get a facebook add every day rubbing it in my face that i have to buy a new gateway.   No effort to email registered devices with the offer above, and now expired. What about your user who bought and waited
