So, maybe this isn't clicking with me right.  I came home tonight; my home obviously had no internet, therefore the garage would not open, so what does one do in this situation or is there a work around to this that I'm not figuring out?

I have a keypad on the outside of the Garage door just in case.  Yes, I have to get out of the car, but as long as I have electric power, my car can get in the garage.

The question is WHY the internet was out.  For a simple outage, I can reset my Internet router and/or internet device.  I know enough about my router to read it on my laptop to see if it is functional and reading my internet devices.

IF it is the internet provider outage, you can have a backup plan for a nominal amount IF you really do not want your car outside for the night for whatever reason.  ie my cable company internet has had neighborhood outages maybe ever other month for maintenance.

I have a portable WiFi internet device from freedompop that I use for one of my tablets that is WiFi only.  IF you do not use it a lot, it is only about $8.00 for that backup capacity.

I digress.  Anyway if my regular WiFi is out, I can reconfigure to use the freedompop portable WiFi device for internet service for the garage door opener.

OR

I can setup the garage unit to use only the portable freedompop internet device that I take with me.  That would never be connected to the home WiFi.

I am confused, don't you have the click that came with the garage door ? My wifi reaches my driveway to use the APP, but I always use the clicker, its easy and fast.
