What do I need to buy to convert?

So, I previously purchased a Craftsman Assurelink garage door opener (with battery back-up, if that makes a difference) As I am sure everyone is aware, that version is not very "Home Automation" friendly and I am trying to consolidate all my devices into one system.

I am interested in HomeKit compatibility as well as tying it into the rest of my home automation setup. (currently using a Vera, but will probably move to SmartThings v2 hub)

My question is - What do I need to purchase? Can I simply replace the Assurelink Gateway with the MyQ version? Or do I need to purchase a MYQ-G0201 ?

Chamberlain tech support will help you, they got mine working with just adding a 888im, but talk to them. Why are you thinking of dropping the Versa ? I am new to "Home Automation". Thanks Harry

The Vera model that I have, only supports Z-wave... There are several sensors that I would like to add to my setup and most of them are apparently zigbee.

The other issue I had with Vera is that it's hard to find a good front-end app for it that is well supported. (The 'Vera' app is terrible IMO) My previous phone was an Android, and I had an awesome app, but it was Android only..  My wife has always had an iPhone and I had a hard time finding a decent app (for Vera) that worked on both phone platforms. Other than that, it's been a great box.. easy to setup and easy to use.

The other reason I am considering moving to SmartThings is that I recently purchased an Echo, which supports SmartThings integration, as well as my Hue lights and my Harmony Home hub...  I just want to make sure I can incorporate my garage door into that as well.

Good luck, I am just starting, I like the Chamberlain, but it has no z-wave zigbee or any other real integration. The Garage door works with Wink, but not the lights. For now I will just stick with two outside lights, two interior lights, and a garage door, until either Chamberlain or my son adds a vacation timer to the APP. He will be home in two weeks for the holidays, he is not happy about working for me. Anyway I guess I will see where things go, I am hoping Vera gets a better app, or someone puts it all together into a vera/zibbee/Chamberlain. I do not think Chamberlain sees the future in home automation. As a garage door maker who makes door openers, and light control they have fallen down on Apple integration, and a simple time function in their APP. I hope they awake up soon. What Android APP were you happy with ? Thanks Harry

When HomeKit is available with MyQ, you will need the MyQ Garage, part #MYQ-G0201.

Thank you Dawn!  - I almost hate to ask, as I've seen the other thread..  but is there an ETA on when HomeKit functionality will be introduced? It was announced at CES that it would be available in the "spring" ... and well..  it's December. (>.<)

I wish I had an update. Believe me if I did, it would be posted on this board. As soon as I know, I am going to post about it.
