I have a new 8500 Wall Mount unit.  I cannot get MYQ to find the new device.  Just keeps "waiting for device" and never succeeds in finding it.  Any help would be appreciated.

Is "MyQ" marked on the wall control for the LiftMaster 8500 garage door opener (the wall control has the button to open/close the door, etc.).  If no MyQ is marked on the wall control, then you need a 888LM wall control for that opener.  The 888LM replaces your current wall control.
If the wall control has MyQ marking, then review the method you are using to put the opener into programming/learn mode, pressing and releasing the Yellow Learn button on the opener powerhead.

The problem turned out to be the way my new opener was wired.  The installer had used a couple of 12v relays. Therefore the opener "thought it was running on battery power" and because of this, was trying to save the battery charge by NOT responding to MYQ commands. The fix was to remove the relays and wire my opener directly to a 110v outlet.   Logical - yes - but surely a flawed design.  Recommend that someone from Chamberlain take this into consideration for an engineering upgrade.  Best to all and thanx.
