Unable to set garage door opened alert

The website is supposed to provide a means to set alerts (text notifications) for "garage door is CLOSED" and "garage door is OPENED". Setting "garage door is CLOSED" works as it should. However, this feature does not work for "garage door is OPENED". This slide switch under alert settings on the Liftmaster website does not remain set after saving.

Setting the garage door OPENED alert is essential to determine if the door is opened during a break in.

I have the same issue.  It looks like you can set it, you don't get any errors when you save the alert.  However when you go back into the alert or view it from the app you'll see that "Garage Door is Opened" not set.

I noticed that I can enter all of my alert rules via the web. Then for any alert that has an "Opened" condition I open that alert in the iOS app and enable the "Opened" condition from there. Saving it from smartphone app works fine.

Problem solved. If you want an alert for both open AND close door events, you need to create a separate alert on you phone app. In other words create two different alerts:one for each.
