Unable to program MyQ with "Overhead Door" brand garage door openers

Trying to set up the MyQ Garage with an "Overhead Door" brand garage door opener (new openers installed about 4 months ago). Solid wifi signal and no connectivity issues - the entire programming process goes through without hitches (as in it opens and closes the garage door multiple times during the programming process) and then I get an error saying that "Programming failed" - No other error codes or anything useful in the app (Android). I have tried resetting the MyQ to factory defaults / deleting the added opener and retrying from scratch etc and have been unsuccessful after 5 attempts. Any ideas / help is highly appreciated.

The model of my garage door opener is Legacy 850 - purple flashing learn LED when in program mode.

Well - after trying one more time (had disconnected the MyQ for a few hours) it went through flawlessly. Now the next problem is that adding a second door sensor to another door is resulting in programming issues - Pressing the "Program" button on the second garage door opener and using the App to program the door opener results in the first garage door being opened and set up in the App again. Unsure how to bypass this issue now - any suggestions?

Raajeev - To start out, in the app delete the second garage door opener. You will then clear out button #2 and program the door sensor in manually and then you can log into the app and program the door opener. Follow the steps below.

  1. Press and hold button #2 on the hub, hold the button until the yellow LED turns off(approximately 8 seconds)
  2. To program door sensor: Press and release button #2 and press and release the button on the door sensor. You should see a flash on the hub.
  3. Log into the app, go to Manage Places (On Android it's a gear button and on Apple, click the menu bars on the top left side of the app).
  4. Tap the place.
  5. Tap the second garage door opener.
  6. Click select and program opener. Walk through the steps on the app to program to your opener.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the directions - I had actually tried deleting both garage door openers , clearing out both buttons (with help from tech support who I spoke to for an hour on Saturday) but to no avail - I ended up in the situation where programming the second opener always reprogrammed door 1 or linked both doors to the same garage door opener in the app and opened and closed them simultaneously. I had even tried deleting my account etc and recreating it and starting from scratch multiple times but could never program a second sensor.

After some pain this is the solution that worked for me -
  1. Delete the garage door openers and any "places" in the app.
  2. Clear buttons 1 and 2 on the hub
  3. Clear out all remotes on the garage door openers (follow instructions for your opener) and then unplug the opener before powering it back on. Without unplugging it first, I had issues with the app never closing the garage door, but only succeeding in opening it.
  4. Then re-added a place and new garage door openers in the App - went through basic setup of the sensors and the door openers and there was no problem.
  5. The only hitch was having to re-program the original remotes that came with the garage doors, but this was painless and took next to no time.
After this I set up one rule for each device in the app and verified that it worked fine for opening and closing - reprogramming my original remotes also triggered the notifications in the mobile app. Success!

I too would like to express my thanks. I found this site right before i was going to reset my whole garage door opener and have to reconnect all my openers.
this worked perfectly and allowed me to connect my new chamberlain gateway to my craftsman opener. this new one is way more feature rich than the craftsman one, which the company abandoned.

I just set up my overhead door legacy version.  It took 2 attempts to program the door, and so far it works great.
