Rule for reminding you if forget to close the garage door at night?

I would like a rule that notifies when the garage door is open after a certain period in the evening.  Currently the notifications only work when an action (open or close) happens, but it needs to be able to notify after a "time" when the door is in a certain state (open).

Example:  If my garage door is in the open state and the time hits 10PM it should notify me.  Otherwise I wake up the next morning to an open garage door and cuss the MyQ as that's the only reason I bought the thing!

While they may not have a feature that informs you if the garage door is left open, they did add the schedule feature which I feel is better.  With the schedule feature, I am able to schedule time(s) for the door to be closed.  It doesn't tell me whether the door had been left open, but I don't really care.  All I really care about is that it will be closed at the scheduled time(s).  This is much simpler than the multiple rule scheme I was using before to notify me if the door was left open.  Plus, I don't have to do anything, it just closes at the schedule time, if necessary.  Whereas, if I was notified that the door was left open, I would have to close it myself... which requires that I have my phone with me and that I'm checking it.  With the schedule feature, no action is required on my part.  So, it doesn't matter if I have my phone or not, or if it's dead, or if I'm in a movie theatre, etc.

CB Bigelow, this "Save Schedule Failed" error is a known issue we're working to address.  I'll let you know when we have an update to share.  Chuck

The scheduled close doesn't address instants when your kids or someone are outside and you just want a heads up if it didn't close, rather than closing it. Nor does it address a close fault when it tries to close, and for some reason it doesn't. All I want to know is "is my damn door open after a given time". I don't want any actions taken. Just like liftmaster advertises.

I just stumbled upon this thread and I had written Chamberlain support directly asking for this as a feature request but didn't ever hear anything back.  I've also seen the new scheduling feature but like some others mentioned when I try to save it gives me an error...and I've done what people suggest by uninstalling and reinstalling and it doesn't help.....I'd gladly test any new update or feature if it helped with the development of the features that we're looking for....

Over 2 years of customer complaints and Chamberlame "looking into it".  All we ever get now is "thanks for your input".

Seems to me this shouldn't be so tough. When I had bought my opener, the reason I got the chamberlain with myq, was for this reason. I had assumed it would tell me if the door was left open. (my fault for not verifying first) But after reading two years of people asking for it, it shows that they are not interested in listening to what the customer wants.

The good news is I had a friend say he needed a new garage door opener and I was able to steer him away from Chamberlame.

I just installed myQ tonight and I'm already miffed. It doesn't do half of what is says it can do. Can't set schedules to make sure it's closed?! WTF? That's like 99% of why people want this. This better be enabled soon or I'm returning it.
