Ring Cell phone or call it when Away louder alarm.alert

I just installed a MyQ Internet Connectivity Kit in my existing Chamberlain garage door opener.setup.  Installation was surprisingly smooth.  I bought it to get my garage door opener out of my car.  That seems to work very well during experimenting.
Problem: Bad guys stealing from cars at public places garage door openers and car titles for addresses.
The MyQ Internet Connectivity Kit solves the garage door in car risk very nicely.

Problem:  There have been reports of the bad guys going around neighborhoods with random number generator like devices and getting garage doors open, then stealing from the target home.

I bought MyQ Internet Connectivity Kit  in hopes the alerts of open garage doors would make a louder cell phone alarm.  I need the alerts to be very attention getting.

I desire the alert via SMS or automated phone call ring my cell phone at an attention getting level.
Just sending email is not enough as the email alert on my cell phone is not an attention getting sound.

Perhaps partner with something like Triplog cell phone app which uses GPS and/or a separate optional blue tooth device in my car to know that I have left my home base.to begin doing it's job very nicely.

Bottom line -- Disappointment the garage door opener alert is not attention getting level.

Install the free "Wink" app and link it to the chamberlain. You can use a robot to notify you. Look at installing the free "IF" (formerly IFTTT). You might be able to use IF to grab the output from Wink app and call you.

Sounds interesting.  Would you care to elaborate or link to more information?
Do I need one of their devices or just the app?

THANKS ... I have some problems with NEST on Wink, but I am experimenting with it.

My current setup is Android 5.x Lollipop system based.
HTC One M9 with Qpair to LG G Pad with Qpair.  Both have the MyQ app installed.

1) You need to sign up for a free Wink account and download the Wink app.
2) Login to Wink app on your mobile device and connect your Chamberlain MyQ account to it.
3) Create a "ROBOT". I called mine "Garage door open for more than 10 min."
3a) If Robot Detects: Main Garage Door "OPEN"
3b) Anytime
3c) for longer than 10 minutes
3d) "THEN"
3e) Email Me
3f ) Enable and save robot.

Now if Wink detects that your MyQ is open for more than 10 minutes, You'll get an email.  I have GMail, so that's where it goes.

Next, on  your mobile, Install "IF", create an account, and login.
For my testing, I linked PHONE # and GMAIL to "IF".

1) Create a recipe
2) Trigger: New email from: "hello@winkapp.com"
3) Action: Call my phone
3b) Message Say: A new email from {{FromAddress}} has arrived with a subject line of {{Subject}}.

Now, when my garage door is open for more than 10 minutes, I get a email in my GMail inbox and a few moments later, IF trigger happens and I get a call on my phone.

You can have IF SMS or AndroidSMS your phone too.  I have an iPhone and I've used SMS messages and now a phone call for this one.

Hope this helps.
