Problems with MyQ 888LM Can anyone help?

Our wall panel has been beeping incessantly for days. The app says the door is constantly closed and then stopped and then closed again, but the door hasn't budged. On the phone with customer service and they want us to strip wires and connect our panel directly to our motor to troubleshoot an issue. They will not replace our opener unless we do this work ourselves! This seems unsafe to me! Has anyone else had this same problem? I'm not an electrician and I don't want to work with stripped wires. Is there a solution that doesn't involve me doing electrical work?
