Open/close alerts often missed

Open/close alert emails are often not being sent. When I log in and check the log they are not there either. It works 98% of the time. What might cause this?

Thank you for the reply. Since this works most of the time, the only possibility I see in the troubleshooting note you suggested is to replace the button battery in the door sensor. I'll give that a try in the next few days and let you know how it works out. Note that once I replace the battery it'll take a week or so of no missed alerts before I'm convinced this has fixed the issue.
