  • I bought this at BestBuy today, with the assurance that it worked with Alexa. unacceptablely long time later: the answer is no.... I'll be returning it tomorrow. This is slow and restrictive business practice to say the least..

I concur completely.  Alexa is dominant when it comes to smart home voice control.  Chamberlain apparently feels that people will pay $1/month to use a clumsly IFTTT/Alexa interface that does precious little.

This is an egregious marketing error --- I have Alexa in every room of my house, in my garage, and in my car.  But if Jeff decided to charge me a dime every time I chatted with her, a whole bunch of Echo gadgets would be outbound on the next trash collection.

Chamberlain makes decent garage door openers.  Their Alexa "support" is an embarrassment.
