We just moved into a new house and the residents that lived in the house before us already registered the myQ device, is there a way to reset it so we can put it on our account?

Dear Mason,

I will be happy to look into this for you. Can you please send me a picture of the serial number on the gateway or hub that you have? My email address is MyQCommunity@Chamberlain.com

I am also having the same issue.  Just bought a home and the MyQ garage door opener is registered under the previous owner.  I only have one remote opener, which my Wife has in her car. I need one  for my car too! I thought, I'll just use the app!  NOT!  Please help.

Follow these steps:
Hard reset your device (myq WiFi hub) by pressing the setting (gear) key for 6 seconds. You will hear a beep and release the button.
Now go to your phone and look at the WiFi and see if you can locate the device WiFi "myqxxx". Connect to it.
Now go to your internet browser (chrome) preferably and type in "setup.myqdevice.com".
Follow the instructions on the webpage. It will ask you to connect to your WiFi network. Make sure you enter the correct password or you will have to redo everything.
If everything goes well, you will be directed to download the myq app.
Go to the app and register your serial number and it should work.
