MyQ won't pair with Craftsman with Red Button unless I reset all codes

I installed my new MyQ garage door opener and got it connected to my wifi network with no issues. However when i go to pair it with my Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door with a red button i run into issues. I tried over and over following the instructions in the app. Finally I held the Red button on the garage door opener for 10 seconds, the light was solid then went out which i believe reset all the codes (disconnecting all remote controls - myq or not). I then tried the pairing process again and it worked! the app then worked fine to open and close the garage door. however when i tried to use my traditional garage door remotes i have in the cars they no longer worked and would not reconnect with the garage door. The only way i could get them to reconnect was to again hold the red button on the garage door, resetting the codes again. This then disconnected the MyQ again, but i was able to reconnect the garage remotes but not the myQ

It seems the MyQ will not connect when my other garage remotes are already paired with the garage door, and vise versa, my garage remotes won't pair with the garage door if the MyQ is already paired. Frustrating. Any thoughts on how to get both to work at the same time?!

Jeremy, the first time I paired my MyQ (purple button) I experienced A similar thing. You may have already tried this, but re-pair the MyQ with the 10sec push and then bring in you car remotes and re-pair them with a single brief press of the red button prior to triggering the car remotes to complete the pairing.

If for some reason this does not work, call the Chamberlain support folks. They are great to work with and will be able to get you all set up. In about 10min. Charles is a great guy to work with. He helped my get a beta product I am testing for them setup. Reach out. You shouldn’t be disappointed.

That does not work for my red (orange) button Craftsman. Called Chambelain and they said this opener is not compatible with the Internet Gateway and I need to add a new wall control ( $50) I told the rep that they need to update the website to warn people that the Gateway is not compatible with this Craftsman opener because the website says it is compatible will all Craftsman openers after 1995. Mine is 2005
