myQ smart garage: incorrect door position on app and close error

I have a myQ smart garage hub and two door sensors (on separate doors).  I will - about once a week - have an instance where the myQ app shows the incorrect position for the garage door (e..g garage door will be closed, but will show in the app as open).   If it shows as open in the app (even though it is closed), and I try to close it from the app, it will give me a close error.  

Then I have to open or close the door using the wall attached door controls, and use the test button on the myQ door sensor to clear the error.

Any idea on why this is happening and what do I need to do to avoid having the incorrect door position being shown on my app?

I'd like to know the answer to this, too.  It only happens randomly, and as long as I'm home, I can go to a regular garage door remote, or use the button inside the garage.  But if I'm not home, I'm stuck.  I tried rebooting my phone, but that didn't clear the error.  How can I clear that "!Close Error" message so I can use the app again?
