MyQ service down for hours today. Had to reboot opener to reconnect??!

The MyQ service went down for a couple/few hours today.  The app got a time out error attempting to login, and the web service would not respond in any way.

When things finally started working again, my opener's hub was reported to be offline. I waited a while, no reconnection.

I had to actually reboot the opener.

That's a major flaw and a huge issue with reliability and security. If I had not been home, the opener appear like it would never have reconnected, and my lights etc would never have come on.  Imagine if I was away for days or more?

Does it not have a refresh routine in the event of a long duration outage, so it can self-restart and attempt to reconnect?

gryhnd, we appreciate you sharing this information with us. There was a MyQ service interruption yesterday afternoon due to a hardware failure. The MyQ team took immediate action and service was restored in less than two hours as we are committed to resolving any issues as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks, Lauren

My question wasn't about the outage, it was about my opener reconnecting to the service when the outage was rectified.

Unlike in the event of a complete internet service interruption where it seems to reconnect quickly (that happened today during our bad storm), when the MyQ service outage was fixed yesterday the unit would not reconnect until I power cycled it.
