Chris,

I apologize that you are having a problem closing the door from the MyQ app. Are you using the MyQ internet gateway or the MyQ Garage? The gateway is connected to your router using an ethernet cable and the MyQ Garage is a Wi-Fi hub installed in the garage. You can email me for further troubleshooting if you would like at MyQCommunity@Chamberlain.com or we can continue to troubleshoot here.

Sincerely,
Dawn

I just noticed you posted this under MyQ Garage. In some instances when the hub had been installed too close to the motor unit, interference may occur.
  1. Unplug the hub and move it away at least 2 feet from the motorhead. Test to see if the door will open and close. If this takes care of the issue, the hub will need to be installed further away from the motor unit.
Note: If the hub has to be installed further away from the opener, it must still be installed inside the garage so that the flashing light is visible to the door.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Dawn,ht

When you say the "flashing light is visible to the door"  what exactly does that mean?  The garage door/unit can sense the flash?  Where exactly is the light sensor?  I ask this because if my garage lights are on, my door will not close (it flashes and beeps, but doesn't close).  When I shut off my garage lights, the unit blinks/beeps and my door closes.
Thanks!

Hi! If my garage interior lights are on ( and they are very bright- may be brighter than the blinking safety light on the myq unit) and I initiate the close garage door command on my cell phone app, the my q will flash its safety light and beep, but the door won't close. If I shut off my interior garage lights and initiate the door close command via the myq cell app, the my q device will blink its safety light, beep and the door closes just fine. Any ideas?

Mike- That's a new one for me. Does this same thing happen when you try to use your hand held remote? Another question, do you have LED lights in your opener? If you do, can you try removing the lights and let me know if you still have the same issue. Also, what brand and model garage door opener do you have?

I have 2 doors programmed and open and closes with the iPhone app the other only opens and will not close with the iPhone app. Both work with regular controllers and the wall buttons.

Just finished the activation of MyQ with my new opener(Model # LW9000WF) Timed out on the first attempt because I thought I had our network password memorized. 2nd time everything worked and I heard the three beeps indicating success.
I too have the flashing lights and beeping as the door is closing and only through MyQ. It does make sense that it's a warning of the closing door to anyone who might casually wander in while I'm away and have forgotten to close the door with a remote (it does not happen when using any other device,eg, remote, wall switch or the keyless entry). I don't use LED bulbs in the opener. At first, I thought it was some type of system warning indicating a problem of some sort.
Would just like to confirm that this is normal?
1 final question:
Regarding the Wi-Fi hub, I don't see any blinking light. Is this only activated when the hub is interacting with internet?
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product.

I just had my new garage door installed today and everything works perfectly, but I installed the wireless hub thingy and got it all setup only to find out it opens the door, but doesn't close it. The hub is in the house next to the router and about 50 or more feet away from the garage door, so when I go to close it using the app, the garage door beeps and flashes and won't close the door. It works when wanting to open it, but not when I want to close it. Suggestions?....

Samething for me I can open the door with my phone but when I try to close it it doesn't work.  This is unaceptable.  Also to use with Google home we need to pay a fee per year, please give this free we have spent so much money already to have this setup.

Sebastien, can you give me some more information about what isn't working? Are you noticing any beeping and flashing, as stated above?
