MyQ Homekit buy another device

This year I purchased a Chamberlain Powerlift MyQ opener - CS110MYQ. I paid an extra $150 over the same model without MyQ, because it said it was HomeKit compatible. I have now learnt that I need to discard the internet gateway it came with and buy another device for US$50 to replace it, to actually make it HomeKit compatible. Is this for real? Are you shipping free MyQ Home Bridge devices for people that have been stung by this? I'm astonished at the false advertising. Surely others also feel ripped off. Thanks

I appear to have a similar problem and I have been waiting patiently for an update from Chamberlain for my HD750WF garage opener. I wonder how many people purchase a MyQ wifi opener with the understanding that Chamberlain HomeKit was coming soon.

I'm just going to repost this here. It's a video of Cory Sorice promoting the free update to enable HomeKit at CES2015.
