MyQ Garage Door Sensor seems to be eating batteries

I've had the My Q Garage Door opener setup for about 4 months now. I don't use the app often as it's mainly to check to see if I had left the door open from time to time. We still use our regular remotes daily as opposed to using the app all the time. In 4 months I have gone through 4 batteries in the sensor. The last one I installed was about 2 weeks ago, and it's already dead. I have a friend who uses this system, and always uses the app to open his door, and he has yet to replace his battery while having used his for several months more than I've had mine. Is there a reason why mine is eating up batteries? My thought was that maybe the app is running in the background of my phone and is constantly searching to see what the status is of my door. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the brand of the battery you are using as the replacement battery?

Energizer I believe. It was name brand all 4 times. They are sending me a new sensor, though they still haven't suggested what may be wrong with the one I have.

Nick - We are not sure what is wrong with the sensor. The battery should definitely last longer than a month. Once you receive the replacement, we would like to have you return this door sensor, so that we can do some testing. Please email me at MyQCommunity@Chamberlain.com and I will send you a return label. In your email, please reference this post. Thank you.
