MYQ-G0201: Connection is Lost on a Daily Basis

I bought the MyQ Garage in December and it installed it.  It worked great for 2 months.  Now all of a sudden for the past week and a half, it has lost connection every single day and the blue and green lights on the unit are flashing. I reset it and connect it to my network, and it will stay connected for a few hours and then disconnect again.  Nothing on my home network has changed.  What would cause it to all of a sudden not stay connected?  It is useless to me if it will not stay connected to the network.

Try to give his own static IP address. Also check the lease time in you wifi router.

Terri,

While things may not have changed on your home network, they may have changed on your close neighbors in the area which could create potential interference depending on how far the MyQ is away from your wireless router. That interference may be causing the issue. This is just a guess and a potential. Especially with the new mesh networking equipment that most of the industry is starting to turn to where a home may have three or four wireless routers in their house that act is a single network. Where previously your next-door neighbors may have only had one router and it was on the other side of their house from yours. I hope that makes some sort of sense.

The easiest suggestion I might make would be to move the MyQ closer to the router in your home in anyway possible. Even a few feet may make the difference and get you back up and running consistently again. A second easy suggestion but it may cost a few dollars would be to also look into a Wi-Fi extender that would work on your network and put that closer to the garage. This would effectively bring your wireless network and a stronger signal closer to the MyQ.

I hope some of this helps.

Scott

I have a strong wi-fi single in my garage where the MyQ is placed.  Another user suggested setting a static IP for the MyQ.  Do you have instructions on how to do that?

Well you need to access you wi-fi router settings. In your internet browser type the address usually is 192.168.0.1 or192.168.1.1 is you never change the username will be admin and the password is password. I recommend go to you tube and find a video With brand or your wi-fi in how to play with your settings . Also change the default password . Sorry for any typo a lost my eye glasses. How this help

If the blue and green LEDs are flashing on/off, the the MyQ Garage has lost connection to your home router. Has the router been updated to it latest firmware version? Power cycle the router (remove power or turn off, then remake power or turn on); this may correct the issue.

I have tried several things and have not yet been able to resolve this.  The MyQ hub still loses it's signal with the router every day.  Here is what I have done:
  • I have confirmed my router  (ASUS RT-AC3100) has the latest firmware.
  • I have set a static IP address for the MyQ hub.
  • I have placed the MyQ hub in the same room as the router, so I know it's not due to a poor signal.
Does anyone else have suggestions on what I can try?  Right now, this is basically a very expensive paper weight, because it can't be used.  I bought it from Best Buy and cannot return it because I bought it more than 45 days ago.  It did not start this behavior until I had it for about 60 days, unfortunately.
