MYQ Chamberlain service really sucks

I am so furious!

===Please note I usually do not like people ranting and at times tell people to chill but this cluster of MYQ service is beyond overboard===

I wasted over 3 weeks emailing with chamberlain, because it takes them days to reply to simple issues of MYQ PAID subscription to GOOGLEHOME doesn't work for me.

During the last email exchange, HEIDI --previously would give me the generic message of UNLINKING and relinking the account.  Well no crap,  class 101 Idiot knows the try that.

So her last gem of knowledge was to replace the door sensor BATTERY!
Holy moly, that HAS to be the reason why GOOGLEHOME and MYQ doesn't work. So I wasted the $5 on again on a battery, and YES I REPLIED TO HER THAT was stupid this step is and has nothing to due with the issue at hand--but she said it would and can't continue until that part was solved.

Well of COURSE it didn't FIX it!

So I told her I demand my refund for a service that doesn't work-- she says fine, and to reply back with order number....

Guess what! When you pay for this service, YOU DON'T GET a order number--its just a generic receipt saying you paid, with INVOICE number.  So I screenshot and sent it.....

no replies for a week, so I replied back again and ask whats the deal.

Some other rep says I've been talking to Heidi and said she will send it to her...

again days go by... I email again

some NEW rep Kimberly replies back with another generic message to call this 1800 to get refunded. AND has the BALLS to include a message at bottom to RATE her response to email, but "KEEP IN MIND" this survey is not to rate the resolution but how she handle giving me a damn 1800 and her performance in giving me the 1800 !

Seriously retarded beyond belief.

So I called, a literally your 1-800-323-2276 has over 6 menus to go through just to talk to some one!

And guess what her response was,
" refund what? MyQ is a free service!"
I said NO, I PAID $10 a year for your service with MYQ
she replies "No, you're wrong--we do not have paid service and that MYQ is free"
I said NO again and that I'm playing $10 for myq to talk to googlehome!

She THEN has the balls to say "Uh, well you need to contact Google!"

Holy Crap! what kind of people work for this company?!?

I said NO, I paid MYQ to connect to google!

She then says "No, look I'll connect you to the right department" and put me on hold before I can say anything else....

She kicks me back to the MAIN MENU!

I'm without a doubt MYQ is the stupidest company out there-- and yes I got BURN by PLASTC (all in one creditcard) and I'm not even as mad to THEM as I am at MYQ!

Seriously, why do yall just not give a flying care about customers? Do you purposely feel good about burning every bridge your members try and build with your company?

Day after day, people tell you what you're doing wrong and you just float it by.

I did give you credit for the free HOMEKIT, which was the right step--but again this is not how "The future of hometech and homeautomation" should be like....

So I'm just going to call my CC and chargeback--if i'm able to and tell them that MYQ is a fraud service.

FUNNY STORY:
My friend TODAY just asked me about wifi smart garage openers on AMAZON, his picks
1. MYQ
2. NEXX  (yeah, I had to google to see wtf that was)

Even though NEXX was a $5-7 china SONOFF that they charge $99! for (OMG right???)
I told him to go pay for the unknown overprice box that should work and do what HOMEAUTOMATION SHOULD DO, then to pay $99 for a decent device by a crap company.

Thank you for anyone that actually read this whinny rant of mine. There are better choices out there, sometimes it's better to risk it all for something new than to continue dump money on a dead race horse (You will always lose that race.)

Probably the last time I visit this site.  good luck to all and future people that falls for this company.

If you already have MYQ, just get this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2YbdD50pqY&index=6&list=FLqZuOBv7ZAPuE4CPkRY9B7Q

there's one on ebay/amazon for like $3 more but faster shipping.

BTW with that new switch, you will be able to schedule garage to close at certain time, but I still have to figure out that switch will know if garage is open or close before it runs.

I’m sorry for your trouble. I would recommend a call to tech and be prepared to wipe everything clean. That’s what I’d do with your position.
I can tell you in my experience myq and accessories ( I have them) are the most reliable of all my internet of things. It’s too bad you’ve had such a terrible experience. My stuff has been operating since my new gdo 2yrs ago and includes the HomeKit hub.
My guess is user error. Please let us try to help you out.

The company isn’t new and this tech works very well. Find another gdo even close. You won’t.

It’s not user error. It was working fine when I first enable the googlehome link.
It wasn’t until I wanted to dig in more and see if I could use ifttt to open or schedule closing etc.
so I enabled the ifttt just to see it’s even more closed off.

I think it’s their side that conflicts since they charge for gnome and separate charge for ifttt.
So I cancelled the iftt and since then google home will not close. It goes some message that it’s a Bluetooth blah blah and doesn’t function.

I did find a better solution, get the cheap $6 1ch WiFi switch and pair it with open close or tilt sensor.
About $25 and you can have voice control of open and close, schedule close (kinda), and probably open by gps too.

I didn’t necessarily mean “user” error. I think it’s in the config. Clear it all. Get it working without any rules etc. then link to other services. Your cheap $6 solution is just that. It likely works but is vulernable to hacks. Hacks isn’t to open your gdo but to hack your home network. Yup. Watch you thru your phone in the potty. You have fun with that. Get the stuff that works working. It does work.
I can’t speak however to ifttt. MyQ is as bulletproof as you can get when setup as intended.
There is something wrong in your setup. I for one would be very concerned as an Android user with unregulated software.

So, this just got more interesting.
A little back story, I noticed on another THREAD--a member was offered a replacement MYQ since his PAID SERVICE to connect with MYQ & GOOGLE HOME had the same error as me; with your device is a BLE blah blah blah.

So I decided to email the customer support with that link and request that I also get the same remediation.

Below is the email chain in which the QA LEAD basically accused me of fraud and abusive language (I guess MATTHEW REED's comment?)

Seriously what are you taking about

“Different ID”?

You’re apologizing for any confusion but sure creating a lot of it.

I really suggest strongly you back up this accusation, “also find you have contacted us by phone and email on several occasions using different ID’s”—it seems like you’re accusing me of fraud.  And do not respond with “removing last name” from a huge corporation public forum as your accusation.

Please loop in your manager on next email because you’re taking this to some weird offensive level?

And for your misplaced aggression of the usage of “retarded” is very insulting. First of all I did not use that word to insult a member or person of the forum.

The use of the word accurately describes the less advance and awkward set up of 1800 number provided to get my refund.

Go ahead, call it, and tell me your steps to get to person to fulfill refund.

Again please attach your manager to response.

Hello;

I apologize for any confusion, I have located posts on many forums under different ID’s attributable to you. I also find you have contacted us by phone and email on several occasions using different ID’s. All things considered we will not be sending you a new MyQ Garage as your existing unit is out-of-warranty. Also; please refrain from using distasteful words such as ‘retarded’ in future posts. We reserve the right to ban any post and/or poster using distasteful language on one of our forums.

I’m not sure where you read that?

At 3week with update:

“Update 1/18/2018
I was finally directed to next tier tech support.

They were not interested in troubleshooting the unit much except for a few question about the model I had.   The next mail exchange, tech support wants to ship a newer model at no charge.

My hub unit was apparently manufactured in 2014 and there is a newer one that has better integration with Google Home.

I told them that this feature used to work with this exact model.  And there are others with the same issue.  They didn't seem interested in getting this thing to work again.

I suspect they don't anticipate many people with this issue and overall it will be cheaper to send new units over reverting some code to get this model to work again with Google home.

So I will wait for the new model to come in and then see how that one integrates with the google home.  “

Hello;

Based on your most recent posting online it seems the folks at Google have agreed to assist you with integration with your MyQ Garage Hub. Please feel free to let me know if you have further questions or concerns.

I’d like to be shocked, but is it really all that surprising that they have someone like that in a customer facing role?

Also, over 3 weeks between that update and the emailed response saying you won’t be getting a replacement after all? It wasn’t shipped by then already? Chamberlain’s typical customer service at work..
