Jeffrey, it's possible there could be an issue with the safety sensors on your door. You'll find a section on the sensors here: http://bit.ly/2xNydbs. Let me know if that solves the problem. Lauren

I have same issue.  Safety sensors are nto the issue. Door goes down manually just fine.  MyQ opens and when try to close, the MyQ hub flashed, beeps but then nothing

I have the same issue. Were you able to get yours to work?

I ended up changing the direction of the garage door unit antenna, tied it up to point towards hub. Now it works perfectly. To test i tried to shut the door with the app, watched the hub, to make sure it was trying to communicate with the garage door unit. Figured since it was sending a signal, the garage door unit must not be receiving it.

I agree with dreadjr.

The problem is that the close signal from the hub is getting interfered by something.  You would think that it is the same as the open signal.  I moved my hub all over the garage, turned the hub all different directions.  Nothing seemed to help.  What worked for me was leaving the light cover on the garage door opener open.  Everything works now and consistently.

It sucks that there isn't an easier way to figure out what is interfering with the close signal.  I think the easiest thing is to have two people, one to move the hub around (just holding it in different places in the garage), the other on the smartphone trying to close the garage door.
