MyQ App & Garage Temperature

Huge, missed opportunity here...  Why doesn't the MyQ App show the temperature in my garage.  I could trigger alerts based on the temperature.

I just purchased and installed the B970.  It has the door controller with the temperature readout for the garage.  That's great that I can see the temperature in my garage..... while I'm in my garage, lol.  But I thought I would be able to monitor the temperature via the MyQ App, which is what pushed me to get the B970 over the B550 or B750.

I store temperature sensitive items in the garage, and it would be nice to be able to monitor and alert based off of the temperature sensor built-in to the GDO unit.

That is a very interesting suggestion. I'm sending it to our product team now. Thank you, Lauren

I have complained to my friends abt this for a while now. If I could read Temp and even last time motion sensor was tripped. I really think this is important.

I just had a LiftMaster 8500W installed yesterday and would also LOVE for the MyQ app and website to support displaying/reporting on the temperature from the wall control unit.  Being able to set alerts based on the temperature as well would be fantastic.  PLEASE bring this to the next version of the app!

@Johnny, is the thermostat version homekit (Apple) or Google Home (Android) (not sure which device you use). capable?  If so you may be able to get that data and control your GDO through say home kit.  I've done some of the beta testing for the MyQ team, but outside of testing, I almost never use the MYQ app. Everything I do with the GDO or other devices is controlled via Siri or the Apple HomeKit app. I have my GDO and a couple of other devices in my "Garage" room and I can review and interact with them on a single page.

@Scott Weidig , there's no thermostat.  The Chamberlain B970 has a thermometer built-in to the door control pad.  It has a screen on the pad that reads-out the temperature in the garage, among other things.  As far as I know, that temperature data is only available as a readout on the door control pad.  It should be made available via the internet connectivity to the MyQ App, IFTTT, GA, etc.  If this data were made available through MyQ, you would be able to check the temp in your garage, or even set alerts.

FWIW, I'm an Android user, with Google Home devices.  I have no intention of paying a subscription service to Chamberlain for the linking though.  It's ridiculous that they charge a monthly/yearly fee for something as simple as IFTTT for example.

Cheers!

Any word from the MyQ Community Manager on the status of this request?  It seems such a simple change to have the MyQ app report on the temperature that is recorded from the wall control unit.

Well, I guess the great idea fell by the waist side....
I just bought this B970, I can open and close the garage door and that’s it. Was it really worth the extra $100 just for the fancy wall plate that I can’t access remotely???

It seems like the temperature and clock are local to the controller.  What is needed is a new smart controller that gets the time from the Internet (MyQ wireless) and is able to send temp and other status back up.
