myQ app Connection

Hello all,

Thank you in advance for replaying.
This is my first post and I am not sure if what I want to achieve is possible.
I had been reading other post and generally people seems to want to be able to control their end device via the myQ app as long as the cellphones/tablet is connected to some network (which make sense, since people may want to know a device status even if they are at work).

My question: is it possible to limit the connectivity such that my device can only be connected when the mobile device trying to connect is on my home wifi network? I recently installed a LW6000WFC garage door opener with built in wifi connectivity. I got everything to work and its great, but I am a bit concern about the security and this "Internet of Things" being hack and stuff. I understand I need to login to the app and such and that the devices uses "rolling code" security model, but just wondering if it is possible to limit the device connectivity from the outside world.

Thank you

When connecting to setup.myqdevice.com using the Myq_xxx Wifi connection, that is used to setup your device to communicate using your home Wifi network. One it's been setup then security is as good as your home network.

I am unable to access MyQ app. this worked great for almost a year and only recently I am unable to login to app. it says unable to connect to server.  it doesn't send me an email to reset password, and isn't resolved by uninstalling/reinstalling. Please help.
