myq and google home

I have myq and it works fine with the app on my phone; I have paid to integrate google assistant but am told by the assistant that it can't open the door due to security issues.  I'm not sure what those security issues are or how to resolve them.  I'd prefer to not have to open the door with the app, for a variety of reasons.  Any ideas that can help me?

You could consider garadget. I have no experience with it but that might be an option. Yes, it does cost around $70 depending on where you buy it from but I rather pay for hardware with no service than being at the mercy of a company charging service fees (they can increase it anytime, should they go out of business you lose control, they might discontinue the service and maybe do something else, etc.)

There are people that built their own solution, i.e. add some hardware to simulate a button press. All it really does is shortening a circuit.

In any case, I am absolutely refusing to pay a monthly fee for VERY BASIC functions like opening/closing a garage door and get status updates into my home automation system. I can't think of any company that does besides Chamberlain. I am sure there are probably some but I can tell you MANY more that don't.
