My garage door opener has the MyQ symbol and I purchase the gateway. However, when it asks for the MyQ serial number from the opener, there isn't one printed on the opener or in the suggested manual. What the what? It won't accept any combination of the serial numbers printed on the opener? Did i just waste my money on the Gateway?

Jason. When you go through the steps to set up your garage opening, it will ask you if your opener has "WiFi" written on it. If you say yes, it will ask you for a MyQ serial # (10 digits). I made the mistake of clicking yes, when in reality, my unit said "MyQ", but it did not say, "WiFi". So, instead, I clicked "No" to the Wifi question. It then took me through the steps to set up the opener in the app and it worked fine. If you're opener says "MyQ" on it, it will work. There is just a difference in how you set it up based on whether it has "Wifi" written on it or not. Hope this helps.

Jason - As previously stated the serial number the account is looking for is the one on the bottom of the gateway. Be sure to choose "No" when asked if you have a Wi-Fi garage door opener and you will be able to add your MyQ opener.
