Manual Reset and App not recognizing device

Three issues....
1) After the door is opened using the app it will state an error has occurred at times. On google play chamberlain suggested it needs a manual activity after a power outage. Problem is this error is occurring without a power outage. What i have noticed is that if i open the door via the app and walk across the threshold too soon it causes this error. Seems pointless to me - if opening remotely this will cause the door to not be closed via the app.

2) the app does not recognize the gateway most of the time and one must go into the " places" tab several times before the app recognizes the device. I understand this - but tough to explain to a daughter or wife. This needs to work all of the time to make this user friendly.

3) Open up these devices to work across the spectrum of z wave or zigbee gateways. Its a pain to have several apps to do everything. Having the devices proprietary only makes it harder on consumers. Chamberlain offers some but not all devices people want to intergrate today. Would be nice if could tie into other gateways or automation systems. I already have another gateway that i will use for most automation - this is expensive enough that it should integrate with z wave or similar. I'm open to buying a z wave adapter or converter.

Like the garage door motor and the device overall
Setup was easy and straightforward - but needs to work all of the time without hiccups before i can recommend the system to others.

Chad, I'd be glad to help with this.

1. What do you refer to when you say the "threshold." If a door is unable to close after 2 attempts from the app, the app requires the local operation at the wall control, to ensure that there are no obstructions or other issues regarding the opener. If something is obstructing the photo eyes or there is a power outage, there are safety protocols that need to be reset within the opener to ensure it works properly.

2. If you are using the Internet Gateway, we can discuss possible causes to the gateway not establishing the connection consistently. We'd need to investigate and exchange information. Feel free to email us at myqcommunity@chamberlain.com to do so.

3. There is no current adapter for this capability. We'll include this in the feedback regarding our app and products and monitor for more feedback and adjust accordingly.

By threshold I mean the safety sensors.
Example....If i open the door via the app and allow the door to fully open - then walk into the garage across the imaginary safety sensor line this triggers the error - now the door will not close via the app.
No power loss and no problems with the door opening or closing.

The garage door works flawlessly manually. I have the liftmaster 8500.

Chad, it is standard UL regulation to require the local operation if the safety mechanism of the door are triggered. Thus, if the safety mechanism observe an obstructions (and the door is prevented to close), a user will be required to operate the door locally to ensure safe operation. This is to prevent harm to any individual or objects when a user is not present.

As i understand the safety sensors are not operation during a up motion. This error occurs after the door has just went up and then i walk in the garage.
Seems that I should be able to walk into the garage when the door has just went up without triggering an error. Thanks for taking the time with this thread.

Chad, we may have to exchange account info and look into the account. Can you please contact us at myqcommunity@chamberlain.com, and we can begin looking into this?

If you have not tried to do so already, please try to remove the opener from the app and add it back to the account. I look forward to hearing from you.
