Light Timer

I have several MyQ light switches connected to my Internet Gateway to include outdoor lights. It would be nice if I could program a rule to turn the lights on or off at a specific time each day instead of just alerting when they have been left on.

CC,

This is something we are working on. I don't have a time table to give you, but we are working on it. It's a great suggestion!

Add me also, if I could program a rule to turn the lights on or off at a specific time each day, like a timer would be a great plus and a five star.

Hi Harry, I am interested in the solution.  I googled "Harry Samuel" and I got a lot of hits and I'm not sure which is you.  Thank you.

Just wanted to add my comment that I would like this feature too.  I have a MyQ switch for my outside garage lights, and I actually came to this forum to research if this was current functionality with MyQ switches.  Should be straightforward enough.  Hope to see this feature soon!

I also want to recommend this idea.  I also have Control 4 stuff in my house and what they do is link up with something like weather.com and match the sunrise/sunset time for your area.  So whatever the sunset time is, then it turns on the outside lights automatically and obviously turns them off at sunrise.  The nice thing about this is obviously it gets dark at different times of the year so to put the time thing on a fixed time like 7p, you would then have to remember to go adjust the time periodically throughout the year.

a vacation timer is the most obvious function that is missing, it should be right under Account in the current APP. They should actually move ACCOUNT to be the last item and TIMER right under PLACES. I just cancelled my order for 2 more wall switches from Lowes, because without a timer function adding more MyQ switches and wall controllers is pointless. I called, and no one could give any information on a basic TIMER function. I am looking into Z-wave, but I like the Chamberlain so will wait for now. Wish I knew Chamberlain made Craftsman, and I had got a smart garage door, but lights are the most important thing with a timer.

We just got the MyQ light and I admit that I'm disappointed that there isn't the option to set a rule to turn the light on. My hope was to ditch my old light timer and go with the MyQ.

I know scheduling is now a part of the myq app but I would also like to option to have the lights turn on at sunset.  Taking into account my location and the time of the year so that the turn on time continually adjusts as the nightly sunset changes.  I feel like I am constantly chasing the changing sunset and it is super annoying.
