Latest app update made door opener small on screen

in app garage door icon is now very small and in the corner of my screen. Used to take up the whole screen and be easy to see. Is there any way to get it back to being a full page instead of just a on a small part of the screen? I've clicked the button in the upper right hand corner of the screen when in my garage door, but it just goes from a hub view to a still small view.

What you posted above is what it used to look like. Now it looks like this and I can't figure out how to get it back to the above

Interesting I have the newest one on the Canadian App Store it’s not the same as your US one

It was like yours just last week. I'm assuming I got some update that did this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling through app store but no luck.

Mine shrank too. It’s these new young twerp app designers. They can’t leave well-enough along. They like small teeny icons and teeny tiny words and text.

Thanks for the article, this grid view was how it used to look. With this new hub view though I can't get it back to that. Not sure if you saw the pictures posted above of how my new view looks. Appreciate any help I can get. I only have one device, so I would like it to go back to being bigger in the center of the screen.

Daleen Olson and Ash, thank you for input and for taking the time to comment on the Community. The smaller icon in the iOS app was an intentional change made with the update a few weeks ago. That said, I'm sending these requests and concerns forward to our internal team and will announce any changes in the future.

Hey all, just chiming in to say this is happening to me too. I've just now completed the install after seeing a co-workers set-up. They had the larger icons, and the icons on our phones are small with swipe left options to 'open' and 'close'. Would be nice to have the larger icon option. - Best!

Chuck issue is the grid icon for some users isn’t there anymore so the support link isn’t useful to them

Not sure if it’s limited to people with multiple Chamberlain MyQ devices or if it’s the update in the US Apple App Store

I’m in Canada and have one MyQ device and I have the latest version as per my App Store and have the grid option still (version 3.98 at the time of this writing)

Hey, thanks for the response. I have looked at the grid view, but similar to what was stated above, it did not change anything. Oddly, I checked with my co-worker and his device shows the larger icon even after the recent update. Just to give you more info, he has an iPhone 7, and I’m using a 7 Plus, so our displays are different in that respect. Also, at the top of the screen, his app shows “Places”, and mine says “Devices”, so I’m wondering if it’s just the way I set it up vs. “the right way”. Either way, I’m completely happy with the product, and not really bugged by the icon size that much.

after update my grid view disappeared (four sold boxes) and now I see the same view as Catherine Null posted above.  looks like grid view replaced with that new two hollow boxes which only change the order of arrangement vertical or horizontal on small icons

Mine too - I want the larger view back. Also, this latest upgrade if I can help my alerts work and they’re not working well at all. Very inconsistent and hard to set up and hard to see.

I find it very odd that the US and Canadian app stores have the same version number but seem to behave differently

Anyone seeing the same issue as Catherine Null able to confirm if they have two or more chamberlain devices in the app? I have one and that might be the only difference I can see

One troubleshooting step I would try is if you do have more than one device try removing all but the garage door then kill the app and load it up again

If it appears normal once again try adding one device back one at time to see if the issue comes back

I've tried removing the app and reinstalling. I've tried completely removing my garage door and re-adding it.  I only have the one device. I know this is first world problems here, but now you have to tap twice to get the garage door to open. So you have a small target that you have to hit twice :(
I usually go to open my garage when I am down the street from the house so it's open by the time I pull in the driveway. The large icon was easy to hit and with one tap my garage would open. Now I have to wait until I am in the drive way because I don't want to take my eyes off the road to tap once to get the open to appear and then hit the open. And if I am in my driveway already, I can just use the button so the app is now pointless.

I’m in sync with Catherine Null. I’ve been using MyQ for a few years and made a significant change to my life style I am 82, low vision and multiple sclerosis. Obviously, I no longer drive but depend on Uber and friend for transportation. Before the update it was a simple matter to open the garage door and I could easily open the garage door. Now a can barely see the small icon and at times I can’t see it at all if a bright day. And as try to the garage door the Uber driver needs to wait and isn’t making money. Naturally, with the larger icon it’s. A simple matter to tap the screen

I’m a retired engineer with nearly 40 years experience. I was taught from day one, remember the customer. You forget the customer with the latest update. I did request tech support I the reason for the smaller icon. I did not receive a responPlease restore the larger icon.

I'm having the same problem as Catherine, but I have two garage door openers.  I also have an iPhone 7 Plus.  The latest update in the US is version 3.1.  According to the version history in the app store, version 3.98 was prior to 3.1.  I don't know if that is why you aren't having trouble in Canada.

I have an iPhone 7. The latest update has affected my app too! The garage icon is small. My husband has an iPhone 7 Plus, yet his app is the same as always... big icon! That is very strange! I would like to suggestion they return back to the bigger icon. It was easier to use. We only have one device. Thank you.

Someone asked for screenshots of the app with more than one device.

I have LiftMaster hubs in two locations.  Both locations have several light units, though only one location has a garage door.  I have a iPhone 7.  I no longer can switch to a grid view.  I only can switch from List Vertical or List Horizontal views.


List - Vertical View;

I can scroll up and down.  The items appear to be alphabetized by hub name and then device name.

This is the left page which contains the devices on the "Cottage" hub.

This is the right page which contains the devices on the "Londonderry" hub.

I have the same issue, I have two garages and the smaller version is very annoying. Please revert this change and provide us with an option to change the size.

They just need to add the LARGE ICON as a selectable option from the top menu.

Apparently, different users with the same version MyQ 3.98 have a variance in the display format.  Perhaps the descrepancy is linked to the specific devices they're running on.  In my case, the MyQ 3.98 app is on an iPhone 7.  ....?? ~ dunno.

MyQ 3.98 did away with the Grid view making all the icons in a list and small. Please give us the Grid View Back!

Is this just an I phone thing ? My I phone has been showing a small picture now- but the app has been working smoother .
