Keypad mounted outside the garage door has dead battery every time I go to use it.

My garage door was installed on our new construction home 6 months ago. Initial 9v battery lasted only a couple months. I changed the battery and the next time I went to use it the battery was dead again have changed the battery 3 times now. We don’t use the keypad very often maybe once a month but it should still last 2-3 years. Like I said, it’s only 6 months old so I can’t imagine any corrosion or sticking buttons at this point. Any other ideas on what could be causing this or how to fix it?

I would say that you have a bad keypad . Mine battery lasts for years. I have lived here for 7 years and only changed the keypad battery once.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. Have you tried contacting the dealer that installed your opener and keypad? If not, they might be able to help you. If you no longer have their information, you can contact any LiftMaster dealer near you by simply going tohttp://dealerlocator.liftmaster.com .
