I had an issue where i needed to reset myq hub to factory defaults. Everything went fine until i went to the step to learn my garage door. It no longer asks me for what type of garage door opener i have, nor about the door sensor. Please help.

This describes my exact issue to a tee

I attempted to install a MyQ Home Bridge and merge settings, only for it to fail. I then had to reset both the Home Bridge and the "old" existing MyQ Garage Controller. In walking through the setup of my Garage Controller I get to the part that asks if I have a sensor ... when I select "Yes" it gives me a "Sensor Error" that I cannot seem to clear. The battery in this sensor was replaced one month ago and the yellow light does clearly show.

If I attempt to setup the Garage Controller by selecting that I do not have a sensor it is then unable to detect my Genie garage unit (this is the same unit that I have used all along, with MyQ, without issue).

I have attempted several hard resets on the MyQ Garage Controller (holding the settings button until the blue light blinks, then holding the settings button until it makes an audible beep and continues to blink). Even after all of these hard resets, it never seems to actually unpair with the door sensor ... even without any setup, pressing the test button on the door sensor results in a 'beep' response from the Garage Controller.

I question if the Garage Controller is truly resetting because the door sensor never seems to actually unpair. Could this be researched, unparied, and reset on the back end?

I found some detail instructions for programming the hub using the buttons. The 1 st instruction is to press the settings button, according to the document, the light should come on solid blue, instead it blinks, then i end up unable to make progress, it appears to never enter in programming mode.

Jeff, thanks for the info. I suggest doing a factory reset:

-- press and hold the settings button (gear) on the Wi-Fi hub until the blue LED blinks.
-- while the blue LED is blinking, press and hold the settings button (gear) again until the blue LED pauses then blinks or beeps.
-- the Wi-Fi hub is set to factory default

Next: clear the individual channels on your MyQ Garage
-- press and hold the '1' button for 10 seconds
-- press and hold the '2' button for 10 seconds

Note - when clearing the channels, there will be nothing to indicate that it was successful (no LED flashes, no sounds"

Let me know if you have any questions. If this doesn't do the trick, please send me another note and we'll get this figured out. Chuck

I have attempted this reset sequence twice now and each time the app leads me to the learning page without asking me for garage door opener type. I am still unable to properly program the device. Only the first time out of the box was I able to successfully complete the setup.
