Is there any way to setup the myq without a learn button?

Since the garage door opener does not have a learn button is there any way to program the myq to work with it.  The garage door opener is a genie screw drive model 12A that uses a freq of 390.  I tried the manual option listed online but that still says to hit a learn button.

The setup option in the app gives you 4 attempts to sync up and on the third attempt instead of hitting the learn button it says to hit the remote button such as in a car to open the garage and the app says it syncs but it never works.  The light on the myq flashing like it is going to open but then after about 3 minutes it just times out and says no response?

Sean - If your Genie opener does not have a learn button, it will not work. The MyQ Garage only works with openers that are manufactured after 1993 and have safety sensors. If those apply to your opener, please let me know the model number of your Genie opener.

Well I have the same
Issue with the genie. Doesn't have a learn button. Has the reverse sensors. Model 12a

This is ridiculous I can program my interrogated remote ls on my vehicles but not a high tech gadget like this !

I even tried hitting the actual remote button when learning and it say successfully learned, but when I try to open or close the hub lights up and beeps but nothing happens.
