Robert,

I apologize for the delay in response. At this time the only options we have for alerts are the email notification and the push notification alerts.

I have NO PROBLEM receiving TEXT MESSAGES as alerts.  I've simply set up my username as my-mobile-phone-number@vtext.com (which is the format used for texting my Verizon phone via email).  Every cell phone company has a format such as this that converts an email address to a text.  I just got off the phone with Chamberlain support and they didnt know about this simple solution, and there was a bit if confusion setting it up... because there is no way to simply change your email address on your account... you must REMOVE your account first, then re-establish a new account with the new email address... which would be your phone#@yourMobileProvidersDomainForTexting.  I wasnt able to do this on my own, and needed to call Chamberlain support to REMOVE my old account email from their system before I could register my device with a new email.  Not sure still if this was necessary, but it was a fiasco... but their excellent customer service pushed it through for me.  Best if the first email you use is your text email.

I'm gonna go with this solution too, as texting is way more reliable than some push notification service. I'm curious how I go about setting up the account with that email address since I'm not sure how I access that 'mailbox'.....

My understanding of push notification generally is that it can be applied to text message.  Does your system permit configuration of the push notification as a text message?

The push notification can't come through as a text message. It's a small banner that comes across the phone screen.

On my Samsung Note5, I never notice these Push Notifications... and found Text to be the best notification!  I've simply set up my account using my Mobile phone companies Email to Text email address.  Done.

Change your email to an email to text address.  Most carriers support this.
