Integration Support

I just bought a new home, and the installed garage door openers are LiftMaster with OnQ.  I had high hopes to connect the garage door operers to my home automation system, which I have done numerous times in the past.

Of course, there is no simple wiring to connect into for these openers any longer.  I was happy to see there was an integration gateway available for purchase, however am looking for an API or methodology for connecting to this gateway so that I can do my own integration.  Is this something that is readily available, and/or can I register as a developer to create one?

I have seen the posts that sometime in the future, a gateway with support for Apple HomeKit will be available (not really what I am looking for) and complaints that IFTTT support is not available (would work for me, if available but would prefer something more sophisticated.)

Thank you,

You can still run a wire to the actual button on the wall and use a relay to trick it into thinking the button was pressed.  Not ideal, but works fine.
