IFTTT Options unavailable

do have the IFTTT MyQ subscription, but in IFTTT it says "Options Unavailable" where I'm supposed to select the door name.  This did work, but some time in the past few days it has stopped working.

The MyQ Google Assistant service is working fine.

Dustin, I've asked a customer support agent to contact you and help solve this issue. Look for an email tomorrow. Lauren

If you look carefully there is an Asterix that says the closing the door is currently not available which is just about the dumbest fucking bullshit the Internet has had the offer in the last 20 years! The Chamberlain people should be ashamed of themselves for making something so simple become so complicated and restrictive just to shove $100 Siri bridge down my fucking throat !!️

Can you tell that I’m upset? Yeah you you people should be ashamed of yourselves and this service better be restored soon or I will be going all over the Internet, every single nook and cranny I can find to bitch and complain about the pathetic nature of your business because you’re not selling enough Siri bridges I’m sure ...

Thank you.

I just read that close door actions are not supported with MyQ Garage. This is insane! What do they think people want to automate!??!

FWIW, the support agent told me:

We have identified a system issue with MyQ Garage and Scheduling. For garage door openers that require a door sensor, we have seen low batteries prevent the door from closing as scheduled. Since security is our top priority we are disabling the schedule-to-close feature to all MyQ Garage users.  It is for this reason that you are not able to use the close option with IFTTT using MyQ Garage.
I told them it's not just my IFTTT applets for a scheduled close, but ANY of my IFTTT applets using MyQ, so waiting to hear back to see what they say.

Thanks for sharing Dustin.

This is insane. Why the hell did I even buy the MyQ Garage... what a waste of money.

I have have to agree.  I have been trying to get them to add the scheduled open for gates and they again mention security issues.  Why?  I know I want the gate open for several hours during the day and then to close at a certain time.  I am not alone on this request so why dont they listen to customers requests?  Seems I may have chosen the wrong gate company as the others provide this feature.

the only premium service that is useful was that automatic garage door to close. if this is disabled then they should refund the $10 that i paid for the annual fee...

good luck getting that refund, just aint going to happen--unless you willing to invest over 2-5hrs calling and waiting.

I did chargeback on my CC, but sucks because the money is coming from VISA--not the company itself.

I didn't want chamberlain to get a penny of my money for their subscription--but overall I didn't want to waste my time doing it.

I suggest we spread or distain for this pathetic company all over the Internet to be sure that none of our fellow citizens are sucked in to the same bullshit that we were because we were dumb enough to purchase their product weeks before the stupid Siri iOS bridge came out which I can guarantee you was what they’re trying to shut down our throats !!️

BTW, that was the same issue I got when enabling my IFTTT Subscription.  It just doesn't work, and will probably screw up your google home subscription now too.

I just made sure of this with support and it is definitely the case that they've removed the ability of IFTTT applets to close the garage door.

I'll be throwing this thing in the trash and using a Linear GoControl zwave controller to operate my garage door opener.

I just sent support this:

Since there was no emal or anything about you guys disabling this, this means that everyone that has a schedule set up in IFTTT to close their garage door doesn't know their schedule is not working.
You've actually caused the situation you were trying to avoid.

Support tells me:

IFTTT users using MyQ Garage have never been able to create a close applet because the scheduling functionality was removed for MyQ garage prior to IFTTT integration with MyQ.

I've been using IFTTT to close my garage door for months!  I'm not crazy, am I?

You may have an opener with MyQ built in. The issue is with the add on component called MyQ Garage

Haha, now I have support lying to me about this thing.

The first thing they told me was:  "We have identified a system issue with MyQ Garage ... we are disabling the schedule-to-close feature to all MyQ Garage users".

They changed their story to IFTTT applets have never been able to close MyQ Garage, when I raised the issue that they've caused the very problem they were trying to avoid because everyone who had an IFTTT close applet set up now has those applets silently failing

So, I signed up for the free trial.  The option to have ifttt close the garage door worked with no issues.  Once the trial was complete, I opted to pay the $10 and it continued to work until January 30th 2018.  Looking at the logs, I can see that is when it started to fail to work.  I recently opened a request to Chamberlain but I have not heard back from them though if it's true that they intentionally disable this feature for "security" purposes, what is the point of this service?  I mean I can understand opening the garage door but closing it?  Anyway, my point is this was working through the trial and and when the trial ended on 10/23/2017 up until it stopped working on 1/30/2018.

Essentialy, it's exactly the same problem everyone else is complaining about.  I cannot create an ifttt applet because it is unable to determine what my garage door is.  I've paid for this service so that it will work with ifttt.  Judging by what people said above, it sounds like Chamberlain has disabled the ability to close the garage door.  I've already submitted this issue to chamberlain and they suggested the issue is on ifttt's side.  So, I've submitted this issue to ifttt and am waiting to hear back from them. Anyway, as I said in a nutshell, it used to work and now it does not.

@slothconut, do you have a MyQ Garage (that's the add-on module you can get for any garage door opener) or a garage door opener with MyQ built-in?

How about some people tweet at the CEO or something about this bullshit. I have the same problem and it’s ridiculous. I won’t buy anything else from them ever again if this isn’t made right.

Same issue here.  Neither of my 2 garage door openers are Chamberlains, in fact they are both pretty old.  I bought the MyQ gateway and an extra sensor quite a while back and dealt with he MyQ app.

Then MyQ came to IFTTT and I got happy.  My happiness dimmed a bit when I realized that I could only close my door but still, it was better. Since I have Automatic, I made an applet that closed my side of the garage whenever my car left the area around our house.  It was awesome.  I pulled out of my garage and, by the end of my street, got a notification from IFTTT that the applet had run and a separate notification from MyQ that my door had closed.  Based on that working I grudgingly forked over my $10 and enjoyed my automatically closing garage door.

Suddenly, after months of it working perfectly fine, a few weeks ago my wife told me that my door didn't close.  No notifications from Chamberlain that they disabled this feature, I'm pissed.

Tell me Chamberlain, how are you planning to keep this customer after this bait and switch?

Having the same issue, I just want my garage door to close automatically (IFTTT) if I forget to close it at night. I don't understand why this isn't an option native to the app to begin with, much less being disabled through IFTTT.

Been trying to tell google to shut my door for a few days thought it was my sensors or somthing.  Just realized my scheduled close doesnt work anymore too.  Dug in to IFTTT and found options unavailable. I am guessing this has been happening a while, silently failing all while chamberlain is still charging me monthly.  Is anyone getting results from contacting support?

This is what I am getting from them:

I do apologize, but you are correct this feature was disabled when using certain MyQ Hardware (MyQ-G0201, 821LM, and MyQ-G0201C) due to how said hardware confirms and reports the door state causing a potential security issue when using third party partners such as IFTTT. This issue is being worked on, but we do not have a set time frame currently when a solution can be expected. If you want to cancel your subscription in the mean time I have included a link to instruction on how to do this below.

I am too very disappointed with the lack of IFTTT support and the apparent careless attitude of Chamberlain to provide a solution to its customers. Instead, they continue charging for IFTTT integration when it doesn’t work. Please do get me the link to request a full refund for the subscription which I bought a couple of month ago.
