If you can't connect to your opener's wifi...

Read entire post before trying anything.

This is what got me up and running. My Apple laptop and Android phone could "see" the opener's wifi signal, but would only connect in a limited "no internet" state. Typing in the setup.myqdevice.com address would give me a page not found error. Almost out of patience, I used my phone (a computer can surely do it too) to determine the IP address of the opener (I did this by diving into the connection settings for the opener's wifi connection- NOT your home network settings. Once you're connected, try to find the connection details). Additionally, make sure your phone's wifi settings are set to stay connected to a wifi signal even if there's no internet. There's a setting to send it back to mobile data if there's no internet, so make sure that's OFF. I think my opener's address  was 192.168.10.2. I typed that into my mobile browser and how about that, it connected and sent me to a setup page.

An interesting note though- I then opened up the myQ app and went through the process, because my manual told me that was the LAST step. The process seemed as though everything else before that was unnecessary. It's possible you can do everything from within the app, and not even mess with a laptop or phone settings. This is why I suggested reading the whole post first.
