To Update Apps on iOS Devices
  1. Go to your iPhone’s Home screen.

    iPhone Home screen

  2. From the Home screen, open the App Store.

    iPhone - App Store

  3. Tap on the Updates button located on the lower-right part of the App Store’s home screen.

  4. You can tap on the Update All button to update all the apps on your device. Note that once you tap on the Update All button, the updates will automatically start to download.
The only way to cancel the updates for all the apps is by going through each app and canceling each download individually.

  5. You also have the option to update your apps one at a time. You can tap on the Update button found on the right side of an app to update only the selected iOS app.

  6. Wait for the update to finish. You will know that the update is complete once the button next to the app changes to OPEN.

  7. You have completed the update of your iOS app.

To Update Apps on Android Devices
  1. On your Android smartphone or tablet head to the Google Play Store. If there isn't an icon on your homescreen then check the app menu. Note: You'll need a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection to access the Play Store.

    Google Play Store app logo

  2. Hit the menu button (three square dots) which is located at the top right hand side of the screen and select 'My Apps'.

  3. This menu is where you can see which apps on your device have available updates. You can individually update apps or hit the button at the top to update them all in one go.

You might also a list of manual updates. These apps must be updated on an individual basis. At the bottom of the list you'll see all the apps which are up to date.

Why don't you have the version number in the App? Either on the initial splash screen or under Help? About?

My App shows up to date, but I have now received two email notifications requesting that I update the app.

Ditto. I'm already on 3.7 on the only device that has it installed, but have received the notice twice now - and checked both times.

I'm also integrated with the Wink app, and that is on multiple devices. I'm wondering if there is something about that causing Chamberlain to think I'm on an earlier version.

Please log into your app. That is the final step to ensure that you continue receiving notifications. Once you're logged in, no further action is required and you should not receive another email.

That does not stop the e-mails. I only have ONE device with an application on it. I have logged on and I still get the e-mails.

You need to fix the error in your software.

I'm getting instructed via email  to update from you even though Apple App store says I'm current.

I signed up for the forums here JUST TO SAY ---- STOP SENDING ME E-MAILS TELLING ME TO UPDATE WHEN I AM ALREADY ON THE LATEST VERSION.

Unfortunately Chamberlain employees probably don't look at these posts very often

Personally I have been getting "push notifications" all along no mater what version it has been.

I've logged into my app.  Several times.  And I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I keep getting emails.

What I'm not getting, however, are the notifications I used to get on my phone that the garage was open or closed.

Mike I hear what you are saying and as a user I have noted that many people just expect to have the application automatically send out notifications. Unfortunately this is not the case and you do have to set up alerts. You have not stated if you have the alerts turned on or not.

To Set Up Alerts (android - iPhone may be slightly different)

1. Open ap
2. press on the three lines in the upper left corner
3. Select Alerts
4. If alerts are already set up
       a. ensure the alert is turned on
       b. press on the alert name and check to see if "push notifications is on" (it is at the bottom of the list
5. If no alerts are set up Press the "+" button in the upper right corner
       a. chose device
       b. select the other options you want
       c. press save
       d. test for notifications

Just bought 2 Chamberlain MyQ enabled garage door openers and an internet gateway.  Can open & close both doors from app and PC dashboard.  But do not receive any alerts when doors open or close, doesn't matter if I have alert set for immediate or with a set time of left open.  When I set up the alerts and hit the test button, I get an alert on my IPhone and an email.  I have also never had any history in the App or dashboard.  The main reason I went with Chamberlain was to receive the alerts, but so far I am extremely disappointed.  I have deleted the alerts, uninstalled the app, reinstalled app and reset alerts, same thing; test works, but no alerts when doors actually open or close.  Anyone have any suggestions.  If not, will probably return internet gateway and never recommend MyQ to anyone.  Just a side note, I am extremely satisfied with the new openers.

Just a thought and I have no idea if it's the cause but how far away from your router is the garage door opener? Could it be receiving a weak signal and failing to notify? Again it's just a thought. I'd go to the opener and see how strong a wifi signal my phone would pick up there.

Have you tried deleting and recreating the MyQ account?
