Homekit Status and MyQ Behavior

Everything started acting funny. Within Homekit the status is not synced correctly to the garage door's actual status. Garage gate is open but Homekit shows closed and vice versa. Also, before, when I close through Homekit I would get the audible alert that it will be closing but now it closes instantly.

I've restarted my router and the MyQ hub so not sure what's going on.

Check the battery in the unit that attaches to the garage door. Mine went bad, and the system exhibited the same type of behavior. Changed that battery and it's all good.

Check location of door sensor as well I had mine on the door panel itself and gave false positives moved it to the metal binding beam the wheels attach to and it’s more stable so I get far less false alerts

Thanks everyone. I've confirmed that it was a dead battery on the garage door sensor. Wish there was a low/dead battery notification on this.

Maybe you could help me. Is your Smart Garage Home Kit compatibility built-in or did you have to buy the Home Bridge? Cannot get a straight answer on this anywhere on the web!

The Bridge is required for HomeKit compatibility for all the myQ Addon hubs

All I bought was Chamberlain MYQ-G0201 MyQ-Garage. I did not need a Home Bridge for this unit to work on my garage door. I think the Bridge is for add-on pieces only.

Thanks Michael. How old are your units? There seems to be some info that the newer units have built-in HomeKit capability without the need for a hub. Check this link on the Chamberlain website but cannot find anything else to confirm that the Home Bridge is no longer required. Strange marketing....

I believe I have the 200 series hub and the only bridge they have integration into. My hub is about 4 years old. My bridge came last year

Ok. That makes sense. The new model is 301. It “might” have HomeKit built-in.

Yeah the ads make it seem so when I spoke with a rep they said the hub was still needed though. The ad doesn’t say that though

Pretty poor marketing on Home Kit. The Best Buy site says that it is compatible with Home Kit and they don’t even sell the Home Bridge! I guess I’ll find out this weekend when I try to install it. I’ll report back with some answers.
