Home Bridge with multiple garage doors

I have read that when having Home Bridge and attempting to open a garage door with Siri, that if you have multiple doors, all of them will open and that a specific door can’t be recognized. Is this true?

Jeremy, definitely not true. The garage door openers need to be named separately within the Apple Home app. Then you can activate each door individually by saying each door’s name. If you say, “Siri, close my garage door”, all the garage doors will close. If you say, “Siri, close my left door.” it will close just the left door. Hope this helps, Lauren

Name each door with a unique name and something easy that Siri can recognize (it will convert your speech to a word or words).

Something like Main Door, Spare Door, Dad Door, Mom Door, Ford, Black Ca Door, Jim Door, Sally Door , etc. (do not use possession, like Dad's Door since Siri will make that Dads Door which is not Dad's Door. Do not use numbers (1 vs one issue) etc.).  Do not misspell (that will confuse Siri).

If you have multiple openers on MyQ and Homekit and you tell Siri to "open garage door," it will open all doors.  You need to say "open main door" to open Main Door only.
