I’ve never had a problem, and I went with Chambelain for one reason: the security and ease of HomeKit. I don’t trust Google not to tell marketeers how often or when I open and close my garage door. Hope it works great for you, though. Did you see the S/W update?

There are many alternatives to Chamberlain, many of which have quite extensive home automation support for Apple, Google and Amazon.  Chamberlain simply isn't there yet. They spent years understanding belts, gears and drives, motors and mechanical linkages, but apparently don't really have any background in what's needed in higher level intelligence for the use of their products in a Smarthome.

Along the way to creating their initial entries into home automation, they must have gotten some bad advise or otherwise lost focus on their core value and created a set of capabilities based on a revenue model that is in conflict with ALL of the current trends in home automation to make things open and work together at the foundational level.

Will they recover? I hope so. Their mechanical designs are solid and the reliability of their openers are terrific. It's only when they start adding anything more intelligent to their openers (starting with Wifi implementations) that they stub their toes!
