MyQ is Making My Door Open/Close Randomly - Can’t Be Trusted: I just had to pay a garage door service tech to come out on a Sunday to ultimately tell me everything was fine with my 6-year-old opener and remotes ... but that the MyQ device was sending random signals to the opener and telling it to open / close on its own. Highly unfortunately, as I loved the idea of having a device like this that let me close the door after I drove away and forgot to shut it. But after reading this thread and others on the web, this looks like a fatal flaw of the system and I will be returning the device to Best Buy for a refund. Tried reprogramming, etc. as the site reps have suggested - nothing works. Unfortunately this problem turned a great opportunity into a HUGE concern as to home security. Even if it appears to be “fixed,” I can never again trust this unit to not ramdomly open my garage and leave my valuables / home vulnerable to an opportunitistic thief. Very disappointed in a gift from my family that I was originally so excited about.

Unfortunately, it seems LiftMaster has decided not to address this concern. I don't know if that's because they can't get to the bottom of it or because they've decided a recall of the faulty control panels (the 888LM specifically) would be too costly.

Either way, disappointing.

Yep, just experienced the same issue with mine yesterday and last night.  Ordered a replacement 88LM but unsure if that was the right choice.
