Garage door keeps ramdomly closing on its own.

Ever since installing MyQ Universal Controller eight hours ago, my one garage door keeps closing by itself.   So far, it hasn't opened on its own, but that might be simply the fact that its been just about always open today (its a nice day and I am home, working outside).

In 15 years, I have never had a problem with the door opening or closing on its own.  Never.  This is happening is completely new with the MyQ installation.   So, I don't think its due to a neighbor.   Well, unless the brand "new" code learned today by my garage door opener, the one from the MyQ itself, by some odd chance matches a neighbor.

None of the times this has happen, have I been on the website, nor on the phone app.

It has been hour(s) between each occurrence.

How do I stop this?    Its unacceptable for the door to close (or open) unintentionally.

Going on the unlikely possibility that the new MyQ's code matches a neighbor's garage remote, is there a way to have the MyQ pick/use a completely different code, and have that new code programmed into this one opener?

Much thanks.

I just came back home to find my garage WIDE OPEN.    The garage door has opened up on its own YET AGAIN.

This is really unacceptable.

As I mentioned above, in 15+ years this has never happen.   Not until I installed the MyQ Garage.  Now it keeps happening, over and over again, and I can't seem to find a way to stop it.

I have a Craftsman GDO with the yellow button.   As I mentioned over in another thread, I seem to have a "type A" yellow button opener.   The type that does not have an erase all codes function (ie, it does not have the press-and-hold for 6 seconds function).   It does have a replace-code-with-a-new-code function, but this seems to only change/replace the code used by the hand held remotes, not the code programmed into my opener by the MyQ Garage.

Please, Chamberlain tech support, how to I stop this?    At least tell me how I can delete the MyQ Garage code from the opener!   I desperately need to undo the MyQ Garage setup programming that it did to my opener.   I am hoping that Chamberlain knows the undocumented secret for such.

I have a Liftmaster with MyQ (about 4 weeks old) and today it half closed while we were putting the kids in the van. My wife backed right into the half closed door.

The other morning we woke up and the door was half open.

I will be interested to hear what response you get. I am also pursuing this.

Walt - The MyQ Garage is designed to work with garage door openers that use safety reversing sensors located at the bottom of the garage door track and are manufactured after 1993. The Craftsman opener you are having an issue with was manufactured before 1993 and does not require safety sensors to work. I am going to need you to email at MyQCommunity@Chamberlain.com to escalate this issue.

James - What brand and model of garage door opener do you have the MyQ Garage programmed to?

I'm also having the same problem. I have 2 older Overhead brand garage door openers that I recently connected to the MyQ system. Since then both doors have been randomly opening and closing on their own.
