Force App to use Data only?

When I pull out of my garage, and my phone drops off my home wifi, there are several seconds that my phone doesn't have a data connection - it is at this time that I normally try and close my garage door.  I either get an error, nothing happens or end up waiting for my phone to drop of the wifi and switch to cellular data.  Is there anyway to add to the settings to "Use Cellular Data Only" so that the app doesn't even try to use the wifi.    I have no idea if Android allows it, but I remember an old Blackberry app that gave me the option.

Use Android setting to manually turn off wifi to force your phone to use wireless data instead to wait for your phone to switch to wireless data.

What about using your GDO remote?

EXACTLY!! Do people not have a clicker remote that came with the garage opener unit? That's what I use from my car. The website or app is if I'm away from home and beyond the range of the clicker... in the event that the door got left open.

iOS has that option so I’d imagine your android device has it, but ultimately it depends how old it is.
