Fix the low battery issue PLEASE!

Clearly, this is a major issue with many users.  Either a.  Fix it now or b.  Refund those who purchased the product.  This is clearly a defect - software or hardware - doesn't matter.  Wake up, Chamberlain!

I just went out and purchased a new battery and have the same message. Is MyQ replacing these units free of charge?

Just remove the sensor using the MyQ app and then reinstall it. Easy fix folks. Frustrating? Yes but the fix has been posted here before.

Think it is time Ring got into the Garage door remote business.  To have to remove the system then go through the set up just to change a battery is next to ....

Agreed, especially when it’s a second home 400 miles away and you will be away many months.

We are having the same issue and would like to get a reply ASAP.  We were out of town and the garage opened and we could not close it.  What a piece of crap.

After replace with fresh battery. The yellow warnig still show on the app. All working fine except the warning in the app. Called customer service and she said this issue is new and need to escalate to upper devision and will get back with me. This is surely is NOT a new issue. Chamberlain please fix this issue.

Updated. The Chamberlain technical support called. Send out the replace door sensor. It took me 2 minutes to set up and reinstall the new one and the low battery warning go away. Hope it stay like this for long time.
Ps: I also downloaded the new myQ app.

Why are the replies to say it's being worked on so fast but yet there's no fix? If work to resolve the problem was as fast as the response time to people's complaints, this would be solved already.

Got the low battery warning, too. Attempts to replace the battery were unsuccessful in clearing the low battery warning . . . and the remote operation of the door eventually failed.  Just replaced the door sensor and everything seems to be working fine, but the low battery warning is still showing in the app.  Interested in your fix, when it comes . . .

This is definitely never being fixed. What a joke. Seems like a software update would be the solution. This needs to be escalated to some senior manager. I'm going to do some sleuthing online to determine who that would be.

I'm also having the same issue.  I swapped out the door sensor, reset the control unit to factory settings, and deleted/reinstalled the app and it still says the bat is low.  I also had this issue with the old version of the phone app and after I upgraded to the new phone app.  I'm guessing this is not a phone app issue, and it is a problem with the software in the control unit in the garage?  And I assume that there is not a way to update the software in the control unit in the garage (have not found anything online about this).  Not sure what the fix will be, but agree with the comment above about how the product should be replaced or refunded if no fix can be found in a timely manner.

is there any way to avoid this from happening?  Now I'm afraid if I take the battery out to replace it before it gets low - it might cause the issue instead of preventing it.  Please advise Chamberlain!

I would suggest anyone having this issue should tweet to  @ChamberlainDIY asking for an update.  Also include @jsohovic who is the CEO of Chamberlain.   I dont usually go to those extremes, but I think 6 weeks is long enough.  It is time to fix them or replace them.

This is the response I received this morning -

Thanks for sharing, Terry. I have little hope at this point of any resolution. Chuck's message is the same thing I've seen for 2 months. They don't even even answer me anymore. Ignoring the customer's problem, hoping we'll just give up, seems to be their ultimate answer.

I cant even imagine the number of users that have just given up and thought their hardware was bad.  When this first started, I googled and searched and found nothing - because it was before everyone started posting.  I am sure others did as well and just gave up.  Very poor way to handle an issue like this.

I am having low battery warning as of yesterday. The unit is plugged in, so was looking for information on why it would even need a battery and found this.

I have had a MyQ installed since May, 6 months almost exact.  Last month I got a low battery notification.  Checked the battery with my meter and it displayed 3 volts, which is full.  Although I know testing batteries without a load isn't very accurate, how long is this battery destined to last in the door sensor?

I was thinking it would last more than 6 months.

I am noticing today that it is displaying LOW BATTERY again.

Hello, I received the low battery warning and replaced the battery. The warning is still showing up in the app. I have read a lot of threads on this support forum related to this. Was a fix ever identified?

My 6 month old MyQ still shows a low battery after replacement...is this going to be addressed? These devices have so much potential, but are so crippled by the software..Chamberlain you are working with Amazon to allow inside garage package delivery, but you still won't let my trusted devices open my door for me....you need to get your game on with this...really having some buyers remorse on your product, because it doesn't work as advertised...

I had the low battery notice on the sensor. I simply deleted the unit from the app and re-installed it. With the new app on iOS, setting up a new device was quite easy and the low battery warning disappeared. It’s a workaround but it works.

I am not one of the users who has a persistent "low battery" warning, but we have replaced the battery twice in 11 months.  Is that about the "norm" for those of you with normally functioning MyQ devices?

The step of deleting and adding the sensor back via the app worked for me too. What’s strange is that, prior to doing this, even the test button on the sensor was failing the battery test so the issue seems to be related to the hub rather than the app itself.

Follow-up addendum. Removing and replacing the sensor in the app took away the low battery warning in the app itself, but the physical battery test on the sensor still fails (red light on sensor and single beep from hub). Looks to be a sensor issue after all, will call MyQ to get a replacement.
